2018 Season Artists

Originally from Chicago, and now a Baltimore resident, Christine Hands is an independent dance artist and educator. She is a current Dance MFA candidate at University of Maryland. Christine received her BFA in dance with honors and her BA in English from the University of Iowa. She spent time working and teaching in London before dedicating eight years to Chicago: working as a teacher, dancer, choreographer, and producer. Christine believes that through art we can touch the lives and hearts of others. She believes that as an artist she can enact social change by spreading awareness, building tolerance, and creating connections.
Stephen Johnson III and Sarah Schmitz met while attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore County then decided to collaborate to form a music and dance performance group. With Johnson as the composer and Schmitz the choreographer of the group, their company Forward Movements seeks to combine these art forms to make a unified performance experience. Forward Movements incorporates the voices and artistic expressions of it's company members to explore a variety of topics and themes ranging from the political to the abstract.
Lynne Price & Peter Redgrave
Lynne Price holds an MFA in dance from University of Maryland and is the Fall 2017 Artist-in-residence at UMBC. Lynne is a performer, improviser, choreographer, educator who has been dancing and making work in the Baltimore/metro area and across the East Coast since 2009.
Peter Redgrave is a performer who works in movement. He organized the Move Move Collaborative in 2017. He has danced with Khristian Weeks, Vervet Dance, and Sidney Pink.
